File Processing Systems

Even the earliest business computer systems were used to process business records and produce information. They were generally faster and more accurate than equivalent manual systems. These systems stored groups of records in separate files, and so they were called file processing systems. Although file processing systems are a great improvement over manual systems, they do have the following limitations:

Data is separated and isolated.

Data is often duplicated.

Application programs are dependent on file formats.

It is difficult to represent complex objects using file processing systems. Data is separate and isolated. Recall that as the marketing manager you needed to relate sales data to customer data. Somehow you need to extract data from both the CUSTOMER and ORDER files and combine it into a single file for processing. To do this, computer programmers determine which parts of each of the files are needed. Then they determine how the files are related to one another, and finally they coordinate the processing of the files so the correct data is extracted. This data is then used to produce the information. Imagine the problems of extracting data from ten or fifteen files instead of just two! Data is often duplicated. In the record club example, a member’s name, address, and membership number are stored in both files. Although this duplicate data wastes a small amount of file space, that is not the most serious problem with duplicate data. The major problem concerns data integrity.

A collection of data has integrity if the data is logically consistent. This means, in part, that duplicated data items agree with one another. Poor data integrity often develops in file processing systems. If a member were to change his or her name or address, then all files containing that data need to be updated. The danger lies in the risk that all files might not be updated, causing discrepancies between the files. Data integrity problems are serious. If data items differ, inconsistent results will be produced. A report from one application might disagree with a report from another application. At least one of them will be incorrect, but who can tell which one? When this occurs, the credibility of the stored data comes into question. Application programs are dependent on file formats. In file processing systems, the physical formats of files and records are entered in the application programs that process the files. In COBOL, for example, file formats are written in the DATA DIVISION.

The problem with this arrangement is that changes in file formats result in program updates. For example, if the Customer record were modified to expand the ZIP Code field from five to nine digits, all programs that use the Customer record need to be modified, even if they do not use the ZIP Code field. There might be twenty programs that process the CUSTOMER file. A change like this one means that a programmer needs to identify all the affected programs, then modify and retest them. This is both time consuming and error-prone. It is also very frustrating to have to modify programs that do not even use the field whose format changed. It is difficult to represent complex objects using file processing systems. This last weakness of file processing systems may seem a bit theoretical, but it is an important shortcoming.

A Keylogger for Mac Is the Ultimate Surveillance Tool for Macintosh Computers

It is without a doubt that the Internet offers plenty of great opportunities to anyone who uses it, provided that they use it in the right way for the right things. It is a perfect medium for research, communications, entertainment and much more. It is a valuable learning tool for children as well. However, while this may be the case, the Internet also has its disadvantages and dangers. There is plenty of content which is extremely inappropriate for children for a start. In many family homes, parents do not take the dangers of the Internet seriously and children enjoy completely unrestricted and unmonitored access to the web. It is essential to avoid this kind of situation. Parental control features should always be in place on any family computer, but they cannot solely be relied upon. What you need in combination with parental controls is a solution which allows you to monitor activity as well. This is where a keylogger for Mac such as REFOG Mac Keylogger comes in.

REFOG Mac Keylogger is the ultimate tool for monitoring users of your Macintosh computer. This powerful keylogger for Mac allows you to monitor anyone logged in to the computer. It is ideal for monitoring children online, since it is almost as effective as looking over their shoulders. It doesn’t prevent inappropriate activities by itself (that’s what your Mac’s built-in parental controls do), but it alerts you to any problems long before they can spiral out of control. This makes REFOG Mac Keylogger an extremely powerful solution, when combined with parental controls, for keeping your children safe online. The keylogger for Mac records absolutely every keystroke once it’s installed and running. This means that you will be able to read emails and chat messages sent, documents typed and web addresses and search engine queries entered. It even takes screenshots at specified intervals.

REFOG Mac Keylogger is a great tool for monitoring anyone else using your computer as well; not just children. It is, for example, one of the most effective ways of catching out a cheating spouse, since you will quickly be able to uncover any inappropriate emails or messages sent to a member of the opposite sex.

This keylogger for Mac truly is a cutting edge solution but, in spite of this, it is also very easy to use. It runs on almost any Macintosh computer thanks to its minimal system requirements. It does all of the hard work for you once you have gone through the quick and straightforward process of installing and configuring it. It also runs invisibly and it’s protected by a master password. However, no one even needs to know that it’s running. You can simply sit back and read the logs as they arrive.

REFOG Mac Keylogger, unlike most other computer surveillance solutions, also records screenshots at specified intervals. This provides you with a thorough visual history of your computer’s usage. Combined with the ability to record all keystrokes, this practically makes a keylogger for Mac as effective as looking over the shoulder of the person using your computer. Electronics Gadgets For Idiots Four G Technology

For somebody who’s a techie, 4G is something you ought to already be familiar with. However, if you’re not one of those who’s fond of electronic gadgets, you should know that there’s more to 4G than meets the eye.

4G is commonly referred to as beyond 3G, a fourth generation wireless technology equipped with a more comprehensive and secured Internet Protocol. It is well-known to provide users with higher speed and better quality anytime, anywhere. It’s packed with better features compared to its predecessors.

Contrary to what others may suppose, 4G is not limited to mobile phones alone but also in computers. If you’re someone who’s fond of watching videos online, you’ll find that 4G provides high definition videos regardless of your whereabouts. You can surf the World Wide Web faster using any web-enabled devices you have by connecting them to the 4G modem. You can chat with your friends faster, hear their voices clearer and monitor their cams with no pauses and disruptions. You can also share pictures and videos without too much hassle. In case you’re going out, you can still use your mobile to surf the net with 4G mobile technology.

So why is 4G highly regarded than 3G or other types of mobile phone network? We are living in a high-tech world where additional technological innovations are discovered almost everyday. 4G happens to be one of the most advanced and recent mobile phone networks in today’s age. It is the network of choice by many since it is very accessible. It also has a very high data rate amounting to 100 Mbps and a very extensive bandwidth capacity which added networks fail to provide.

There are pitfalls though. The main one is that as a cutting edge technology there is likely to be very few places that actually have a 4G network in position.

Chances are it is used first in highly urbanized areas before it spreads out to rural areas. To remedy this problem, various companies set 4G hotspot areas where users can go to and use it free of charge. In some cases, there are computers which aren’t applicable with 4G since it’s engineered for Windows.

Today, almost all kinds of cell phones are suitable for 4G. Nevertheless, many techies believe that smart phones are the best because of their quality digital cameras. Others use T-mobile and iPhones which are likewise 4G compatible devices. Another concern will be the price. You can have these gadgets with or without 4G contract. A device with a 4G contract is cheaper with price starting at 199 to 299 US Dollars while those without a contract can cost you 599 to 699 US Dollars.

Switching to 4G is a good option you can make especially if you’re someone who’s into the latest technological craze and doesn’t want to be left behind. With so many features it offers, 4G is certain to change the way you look at technology.

The research of Alexander Golod

The New World Wonder you can admire in Russia now! A huge Pyramid that combines the mystery of ancient legends with modern technologies and scientific achievements is opening its doors for excursions soon.

The forty four meter high Pyramid near Moscow is built without using any metal. It is made of fiberglass constructions.

Twenty years of research and experiments have allowed a group of scientists led by Alexander Golod to determine specific shape, size, and material of a pyramid, with which the influence of pyramid on the surrounding environment is most beneficial and harmonious.

Driving 20 kilometers from Moscow Ring Road you will get to the 38th kilometer of Moscow-Riga highway – the place where this unique architectural building was raised. Hundred thousands of people including famous actors, singers, sculptors, majors and presidents have already been to the biggest Russian Pyramid. This Pyramid was built and is researched by scientists under Alexander Golod’s supervision.

The monks from Japan, Korea and Tibet got interested in the Russian Pyramid, they consider it to be the ideal place, meaning the space inside and around it. Their ideas are confirmed by scientific researches made in institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences. All the researches showed positive influence on ecology and human health while visiting the Pyramid or using products, crystals, solutions and objects prepared there.

Such pyramid was named The Golden Section Pyramid. The golden section is one of the main principles in architecture, painting, and science. Masterpieces of architecture and art, the Nature itself and the pinnacle of its creation – human being, are created by this exact proportion. For the past 15 years more than 50 Golden Section Pyramids have been built.

The highest pyramid of 44 meters was built in 1999. The process of preparation of the area for pyramid construction took more than 5 years. The Pyramid is made of non-conductive materials without a single metal element. The ABO (Adaptation of Biological Objects) technology, developed during the construction process of the pyramid, allows to use energy of the 44-meter pyramid at any time, any place with the convenience of pyramid matrices, mini-pyramids, pyramid crystals and pyramid water.

The potency of pharmaceuticals increased with decreasing side effects.
There is an increase in survival of cellular tissue infected by viruses and bacteria. The pyramids decrease the strength of various viruses and bacteria.
When radioactive waste is placed inside the pyramids, there is a decrease in their level of radioactivity.

Airbag Technology Of The Inada Sogno Dreamwave Massage Chair

Dreamwave and Low Back Airbag Technology of the Inada Sogno Massage Chair

As a chiropractor I treated many patients with lower back pain. Of course, as a chiropractor, I applied a rotary low back adjustment to help loosen the low back joints and induce normal motion to the low back joints. You know the move…where the chiropractor twists the body of the patient “like a pretzel”, as patients describe it, to get the back to “pop.”

More often than not, that chiropractic adjustment or manipulation helped relieve the low back pain from which the patient was suffering. It usually took a few visits to get the full benefit of the therapy, but in 90% of the cases (approx.) we’d see an improvement in symptoms.

For those of you who have sat on a massage chair before, you know that the main function of every massage chair is the up and down rollers that move from the base of your skull down to the bottom of your back. The movement is purely up and down and side to side. The problem with most massage chairs is that there is not a rotary motion applied by any massage chair to the low back which mimics the low back adjustment movement of a chiropractic adjustment.

Now, I certainly don’t expect a massage chair to “pop” your bones, but a rotary motion in the low back would be helpful. I never really even thought about it until the Inada Sogno massage chair came onto the market. It had two low back features that totally captured my attention: 1.) waist airbags that alternately inflated so as to induce a rotation motion to the low back, and 2.) the Dreamwave technology in the seat that passively moved the pelvis.

I’ll discuss those Inada Sogno features here:

1. Inada Sogno Waist Airbags

Other chairs have waist airbags, but this was the first time I had seen airbags that inflated first on one side and then on the other in an alternating fashion. When I sat in the chair it felt like it was trying to mimic the movement that a chiropractor induces with their side posture lower back adjustment. Of course, it didn’t provide anywhere near the torque that a chiropractor can apply manually, but just to see a manufacturer try to mimic that motion even to a small degree was pretty cool. And it did feel quite nice on my low back.

2. Inada Sogno Dreamwave Technology

To sit on the Inada Sogno massage chair for the first time, you are quite surprised when the seat starts to move. I was very impressed with it. As a chiropractor I have seen so many patients come into the office who could barely move because of acute low back pain. I couldn’t even get them onto my treatment table to apply some manual therapy.

The Dreamwave Technology actually provides that passive motion that is so hard to do in a clinical situation. If you can get into the seat just to sit down, the chair will do the rest. Using the Dreamwave feature, you will feel the chair seat move in an undulating figure-8 motion from side to side. It also has an up and down component to the movement. It is so very soothing.

Of course, you don’t have to be in excruciating, debilitating pain to enjoy this feature. It is so gentle and passive that you will want to experience it every time you sit on this massage chair. This motion applies a gentle passive motion that will hydrate your lower back discs and relax the muscles of the pelvis and low back areas. It is quite a remarkable feature and one that will surely be copied by other manufacturers over time.

These two features in the Inada Sogno massage chair make it one of the most unique and therapeutically effective massage chairs in the world.

Different Police Siren Technologies

The earliest form of police siren was made of two perforated disks. One of these disks revolved and when airflow was guided to these disks from a tube, air passage through the disk resulted in a sound. The disks were soon replaced by two concentrically placed cylinders one of which revolved. This too created a similar sound and with the low level of noise pollution in olden days, this type of police siren did a good job.

While these conventional sirens were pneumatic sirens, electronic sirens soon came into use as police siren. The energy requirements of electronic sirens were less, with different sounds being created using amplifiers and sound modulators. Wail, yelp, hi-lo, phaser, manual, air horn two-tone etc. are the more commonly used sound patterns in a police siren today. Besides that, present day sirens come with software that allows the synthesizing of more sounds according to user preference.

The control head of the siren can be programmed to toggle between different siren sounds, and also to automatically switch to more intense intersection sounds when the vehicle is turning the corner. Most police siren heads are also programmed to stop the sound when the driver is exiting from the vehicle. However, some vehicles make use of manual sirens also along with electronic sirens.

The type of police siren that is in common use these days make a sound that is shrill enough. But the problem is that the fast evolving technology is giving many drivers the choice of shutting out other sounds of the road. Many cars are sound proofed to block out other noises of the road. Then all cars have radios and options for playing CDs or cassettes. And people have the option of shutting out the world with the help of their earphones, not to speak of the problems created by mobile phones.

In this context the existing sound of the police siren often become insufficient to attract the attention of other vehicle drivers enough to warn them. So, now police siren technology is seeking higher levels to compete with the sound proofing of the cars, and the music listening devices that people have at their disposal. The result of this is the development of two different types of siren amplifiers known as howlers and rumblers.

Howlers or rumblers are not a new police siren in itself but something that can be added to a siren. It works by emitting piercing low frequency sounds. These are sharper than the ordinary sound of a siren and its vibrations will reach the other vehicles on the road, however high the noise level is. Since these are more vibrations than sounds, the other vehicles on the road will be able to feel it, even if they do not hear it, and the drivers will be alerted to the situation.

As a police siren, both howlers and rumblers do a very good job in that the warning is carried to the other vehicles on the road fully, notwithstanding how distracted the other drivers are. But the sounds these sirens produce are very sharp so that those operating it have to wear hearing protection. The inbuilt timers of these sirens also have to be kept on, to minimize the operator’s exposure to it.

Digital Tv Technology Has Merits And Drawbacks

Digital TV has a lot of benefits. So many in fact that TV broadcasters, the consumer electronics industry, and the Federal government have allied to make digital TV the sole mode of over the air TV transmission in the United States starting on February 19, 2009. Of course who benefits most from this conversion remains to be seen.

Excluding all of the potential economic and political benefits and pitfalls, digital TV has a number of benefits when compared to the older analog format that’s primarily in use right now. Digital TV uses computer equipment to convert the images and sounds of TV into digital data (a bunch of ones and zeros) before transmitting them to their viewers. Once the digital TV signals arrive at their destination, other computer equipment cleans interference out of the signal and reconstructs all of that computer data into the TV programming that the viewer can watch on his or her TV screen. The fact that the interference can be cleaned out means that the picture can be much clearer than it would ever be from an analog signal. Digital TV also allows for the use of an on screen program guide- even with over the air programming- and other similar features. The fact that digital TV can also be subjected to video compression technology means that it can take up a lot less bandwidth than analog TV and that leaves more frequencies available to be used for other kinds of transmissions.

Of course, like anything else digital TV has some drawbacks when compared to analog TV. The biggest disadvantage is that analog TV can provide a more cohesive signal over a greater distance than an equivalent digital signal. In other words, as you get farther away from the transmission source of an analog TV signal, the picture and sound get fuzzier but are still understandable. As you get farther away from the source of a digital signal the transmission still fades, but you won’t notice any degradation of the picture quality until it suddenly becomes to weak and disappears all together. This means that many people who put up with fuzzy over the air analog TV probably won’t be able to receive a digital signal broadcast from the same location and at the same strength. This alone might make those big rooftop antennas of the mid-twentieth century much more popular again.

Another major problem with digital TV is that a digital TV tuner is needed to watch it and this hardware isn’t built into older TV sets (or a lot of newer ones either, for that matter!). This means that in order to watch over the air TV after February 19, 2009, anyone with an analog only TV set either has to buy a new TV set or get a special set top box that contains a digital tuner and can convert the digital signal into an analog signal that the TV set can understand.

And that’s where the political and economic advantages and disadvantages come into play! TV electronics manufacturers stand to make a lot of money because of this conversion- all the more so because they continued to sell analog only TV set even after they knew the conversion was imminent.

Ultimately the American people will benefit from the conversion to digital TV, but in the mean time some special interests will definitely come into play as a lot of TV viewers will probably be understandably frustrated and confused.

Technology & Business Marketing

Gone are the days when marketing was limited to a few grandiose ideas thrown together by the top management after which pushed to junior marketers to execute on sheer grit and long hours of extensive work done without the help of technology.

Cut into the current day and age and you can see technology making a formidable inroad into marketing and changing the way marketers think. Technology has also increased the number of media touch points with the customers. Here are a few glances of how technology has changed marketing:

1- Bye bye offline. Welcome online

With the advent of information superhighway, marketers get access to a considerable amount of resources considering they also have to cope with servicing customers on this platform as well. Public relations have gone online and twitter is the new CNN and Facebook is the new search engine.

With such sweeping changes in user behavior, marketers can only make it easy for themselves by harnessing all these technological changes rather than shunning it.

2- Creative is as creative does

Consumers are more exposed to technologically modified creative together with the increasing advancement made in design technology. 3D is no longer a difficult practice and simplistic graphics might backfire until and unless you have a specific strategy behind it.

The good thing about design enhancement is that it has changed the way in which creative folks ideatethe tough part is that it makes business marketing a bit more complicated.

3- Change in the lingo

Technical advances have changed the marketers language as well. Online marketing has added terms like Performance Marketing, Pay Per Click (PPC), Cost Per Thousand (CPM), Click Through Rate (CTR) and so on and traditional marketers need to read up or be left out. These new areas have also bought in a significant change in how business marketers are perceived by clients and colleagues.

4- The change in the marketing mix is slow but important

Marketing plans now include online entities almost by default. Few and far between plans are likely to have no mention of the online and social media.

In fact business marketing on social media and digital marketing are now being handled by specialized digital agencies that might be catering to specific niches for example digital marketing for consumer good, digital marketing for food & beverage and so on.

5- Availability

Availability of more user data has been made possible with the rise of technology implementation for business marketing. Years ago, marketers would provide intelligent guesses on the target audience; today they can actually provide accurate user data that help influence business marketing decisions.

6- Technology for business marketing thrives on innovation

Smaller businesses have been able to crack the marketing code with innovative technology and that is what makes technology utilization an essential factor in all marketing activities.

Marketers have to work hand in hand with technology and the involvement is likely to grow in the coming future. Technology in business marketing is here to stay and the sooner marketers get on with new and exciting ideas.

The Future Of Mobile Communications is Wifi and VOIP Technology

Two of the most exciting areas in the field of mobile technology are WiFi and VOIP, two of the fastest growing segments in the communications industry today. Almost daily one can find new stories pertaining to one of these and how forward thinking companies are embracing the technology and building upon it.

It seems that governments and communications companies all over the world are beginning to see the opportunity presented by WiFI technology. Ruckus Wireless and KDDI, Japans main telecommunications provider, announced on July 5th of 2011 that they were partnering to bring coast to coast WiFi for the nation of Japan. According to the press release from Ruckus, “Subscribers of KDDIs packet flat rate plans can now use the new KDDI “au Wi-Fi SPOT” service free of charge with their au Android smartphones in over 10,000 locations initially, scaling to 100,000 locations by March 2012.”

Barbados announced recently in Caribbean 360 that the island nation would have free nationwide WiFi coverage by 11-11-11, thanks to the work of the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation or BEF and their work with the government and communications companies to make this long time dream a reality for the Caribbean island nation with many others intending to follow suit. Damian McKinney, CEO of McKinney Rogers, a partner in the initiative, said they wanted the coverage everywhere, “from bus stop to rum shop.” McKinney said that the initiative to provide free nationwide WiFi across the country was spurred into action by the tremendous burden and turmoil arising from the economic recession affecting so many countries.

In yet another exciting development, the IEEE announced earlier today, August 1, 2011, that the organization has published the IEEE 802.22TM standard. IEEE 802.22 systems will provide broadband access to wide regional areas around the world and bring reliable and secure high-speed communications to under-served and un-served communities. According to the IEEE press release issued this morning, this new standard for Wireless Regional Area Networks (WRANs) takes advantage of the favorable transmission characteristics of the VHF and UHF TV bands to provide broadband wireless access over a large area up to 100 km from the transmitter. Each WRAN will deliver up to 22 Mbps per channel without interfering with reception of existing TV broadcast stations, using the so-called white spaces between the occupied TV channels. This technology is especially useful for serving less densely populated areas, such as rural areas, and developing countries where most vacant TV channels can be found.

On the VOIP side of the communications technology coin, there has also been big news of late, not the least of which was the purchase of Skype, the internet VOIP company, by software giant, Microsoft for nearly nine billion dollars. Although the move by Gates and company was initially somewhat surprising to some in the industry, it did serve as a wakeup call to the communications industry that changes are coming. Google is also getting in on the action and according to sources the company is seeking to expand its Google Voice platform across mobile devices. The social networking behemoth, Facebook also released a statement in July that their Facebook Mobile network is being phased in to allow members of Facebook to be able to talk to each other via mobile devices.

These are incredibly exciting times for the mobile communications industry with amazing advancements being made in the field that will change the way the entire world communicates by giving consumers more freedom and making wireless costs more affordable to everyone.

One company that seems to be at the forefront of both of these areas of mobile technology is debt free and innovative, Smart Mobile Wireless, a communications company and app developer that is blazing new trails in mobile technology with their cutting edge mobile communications apps, Smart Mouth Mobile, Smart Mobile, and Smart Mouth Kids Mobile. According to a spokesman for the company, Smart Mobile Wireless offers the first cross platform, flat rate, unlimited international calling application in the mobile communications industry and at a rate of only $19.95 USD per year for unlimited international calling Im sure they are going to get plenty of attention!

Unlimited local and worldwide calling is only one of the features of these groundbreaking applications, they also feature unlimited texting, an all in one instant messenger management interface featuring Gtalk, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, and even Facebook Chat! These communications and social networking apps also allow you to send tweets to Twitter within the same app as well! When you install the app it automatically imports all of your devices contacts and designates those who also have one of the Smart Mobile Wireless apps installed by placing an icon beside their name.

These amazing mobile communications apps allow one to use WiFi to make unlimited calls anywhere on the planet, you can even transform your iPad or even your iPod Touch into a phone and enjoy virtually unlimited communication via WiFi and VOIP technology! In addition, the company is releasing a new mobile WiFi device that will be known as the Smart Mouth Hotspot which will give you the ability to carry an iPhone sized device giving you WiFi access in your pocket anywhere you go!

The unlimited international calling features and cross platform functionality are due out the first part of August of 2011 with version 1.3, currently version 1.2 of any of the Smart Mobile Wireless apps, is supported on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch with free member to member calling and texting and is available forfree download at the iTunes Store.
